Day 1 -

Arrive in Anchorage on your own and pick up your full-size rental car.(We use full-size cars because they are very stable and can handle your luggage). The remainder of day is free to explore Alaska's largest city.
Day 2 -

Valdez
Today you drive 65 miles to the town of Whittier. There you board the Alaska State ferry, sailing across Prince William Sound past Columbia Glacier to Valdez.
Day 3 -
Valdez /
Paxson
Explore Valdez this morning and then depart for the 190-mile over the scenic Richardson Highway to Paxson.
Day 4 -
Paxson /
Denali National Park
Today's drive will cover 165 miles over the scenic Denali Highway to Cantwell and on to Denali National Park for your overnight stay.

Denali to Talkeetna
Travel 153 miles over the George Parks Highway. Look for great views of Mt. McKinley enroute. Talkeetna is the starting point for climbers of Mt. McKinley. Enjoy an afternoon Wilderness Jet Boat Safari tour.
Day 7 -
Talkeetna /
Anchorage
It's 115 miles to Anchorage, passing through the famous Mat/Su Valley farming area. Or take a side trip over scenic Hatcher Pass and visit the Independence Mine State Historical Park.

Anchorage
Drop your car at the airport where all arrangements end.
