Travel the back roads to the late 1800’s at Crow Creek Mine, nesteld in a valley on Crow Creek where you and your tour guide will dig for gold! The drive down the scenic Turnagain Arm will star this tour. Once into Girdwood, your Tour guide will take the back roads up Crow Creek Road to Crow Creek Mine. Here you’ll have a chance to see historic buildings, miner cabins, and equipment from days gone by that was once used in the old hydraulic placer mine.
Then you will walk through the gardens to the creek to try your hand at prospecting for gold the old-fashioned way. You tour guide will teach you how Alaskans have panned for gold since the early days of the first Gold Rush! Are thee serious miners aboard? Rent a sluice box and get to the gold faster!
This tour includes hotel pick up, fully-guided transportation with panning, admission into the mine, equipment for panning as well as water and snacks for your comfort in the touring vehicle.
