Day 1 – Arrive Anchorage
Today arrive in Anchorage. On arrival, claim your luggage in the baggage claim area. A courtesy transfer is included to your hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, a key packet including a Welcome Letter will be waiting at the front desk.
Your Tour Director will be on hand to assist with all aspects of your tour enjoyment.
Day 2 – Anchorage to Valdez
Breakfast will be included this morning. Enjoy an included local city tour of Anchorage featuring the historic downtown area, Lake Hood where 190+ float planes takeoff and land daily, Earthquake Park to learn about the 1964 Earthquake, and the Alaska Native Heritage Center where you will have the chance to learn about the history and culture of Alaska. Later, travel south along the scenic Seward Highway to the port town of Whittier. Upon arrival into Whittier board your marine vessel for a scenic journey through Prince William Sound to the town of Valdez. Enjoy the pristine waters as you look out for marine animals, glaciers, and towering mountains. Overnight Valdez area.

Day 3 – Valdez to Fairbanks
Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. After breakfast depart for the scenic sightseeing on the Richardson Highway from Valdez to Fairbanks. The route takes us along the Trans-Alaska Pipeline that runs 800 miles from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez and along the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, the largest park in the United States. There are several exciting stops planned for the journey today including Rika’s Roadhouse, a historical roadhouse that features history in a picturesque setting.
One of the featured stops today is the Wrangell St. Elias National Park Visitor’s Center. Here enjoy the exhibits, view the park film, and examine the large 3-D interactive map display.

Day 4 – Fairbanks Riverboat Discovery Cruise
Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Your morning is free to explore Fairbanks on your own.
This afternoon cruise on the Chena River aboard a stern-wheeler and experience the thrill of river travel. Be immersed in frontier living with a visit to a replicated Athabascan Indian Village, an introduction to the sled dogs at Trailbreaker Kennels, a fish wheel demonstration and more.

Day 5 – Fairbanks to Denali National Park
Park through the Tanana River Valley. Travel through the river community of Nenana to learn about the Nenana Ice Classic, Alaska’s only legalized form of gambling.

Day 6 – Denali National Park
A continental breakfast is included at the hotel this morning.
Morning is free to explore Denali National Park
This morning the Tundra Wilderness tour will travel into Denali National Park along the Park Road. On tour, you may catch sight of Denali, North America’s highest mountain. Throughout your adventure, you’ll witness incredible scenery and enjoy a narrated history of the park road, keeping an eye out for animals that call this place home such as grizzly bear, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep. A small snack and beverage are included in the tour. Your Tour Director will inform you of the exact departure time.

Day 7 – Denali Park to Talkeetna to Anchorage
A continental breakfast is included at the hotel this morning.
Board your luxury dome rail car for the trip from Denali to Talkeetna, a quaint historic village nestled at the confluence of three glacially fed rivers. The village’s name derives from the Athabaskan word for “river of plenty.” It is also the inspiration city for the community depicted in Northern Exposure, the television series.
In Talkeetna board a motorcoach for the journey from Talkeetna to Anchorage. Keep your eyes open for Alaska wildlife roaming the pristine landscape. Mountains, rivers, lakes, flora, and fauna make the trip scenic and enjoyable. The on-board guide will keep you informed of the local history and share tales of the north.
Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel.
Tonight, share the favorite highlights of the trip with your fellow travelers as you join in a farewell dinner this evening.

Day 8 – Anchorage Departure
Today your journey ends. The hotel will transfer you to the airport.
