Day 1 – Anchorage

Vacation begins with arrival at your hotel in Anchorage. Enjoy the rest of the day in Alaska’s largest city.

Day 2 – Anchorage / Seward

Depart Anchorage by rail. Follow the shores of Turnagain Arm and cross over Moose Pass dropping into the seaport of Seward.

Ididaride Sled Dog Tour – Your adventure begins with a two-mile dog sled ride. Feel the power and the energy as these sled dogs are harnessed to the comfortable wheeled sleds. Your Iditarod veteran guide will thrill you with stories from the trail as you experience the raw power of 13 Iditarod sled dogs.

Upon your return, tour the kennel facilities, laugh as a guest is dressed up as an Iditarod musher, and cuddle adorable husky puppies. All guides are Iditarod racers, and offer a delightfully humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the “Last Great Race”.

Day 3 – Seward / Anchorage

Depart on your morning tour to Kenai Fjords National Park to view the wildlife and glaciers. This 6-hour cruise travels throughout the Kenai Fjords National Park and the Chiswell Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Wildlife is abundant throughout the National Park, and the tidewater glaciers are massive. You’ll visit Holgate or Aialik Glacier , where you can witness calving. This cruise also offers the best opportunity for whale watching in Alaska. With photo opportunities galore, your cruise will be unforgettable (L)

Return to Seward in time for the your bus departure back to Anchorage.

Day 4 – Anchorage / Denali National Park

Board the Luxury Dome railcars this morning, and traverse the Mat-Su Valley and over Alaska’s highest bridge at Hurricane Gulch, then on to Denali. Arriving at 4:45pm, you can begin your exploration of this great National Park.

Day 5 – Denali National Park Experience and Options

Today enjoy the Tundra Wilderness Tour that travels deep into the Park. There is also time during your stay to schedule your personal exploration of the Park. Click Here for all the possible tour options you have to customize your stay in the Park.

Day 6 – Denali National Park / Fairbanks

This morning you have more time to explore the park before you re-board your Luxury Dome railcars for the trip to Fairbanks.

Day 7 – Fairbanks

Today you will see all Fairbanks has to offer. Start the day with a tour of the El Dorado Gold Mine and Gold Dredge No.8. Ride the Tanana Valley Railroad for an adventure into the gold fields of the Interior. A two-hour guided tour takes you through a permafrost tunnel where Alaska’s history comes alive. Visit Gold Dredge No. 8, a historic dredge used to mine the valley. You will learn about the rich gold history of the area.

Travel to Discovery Landing for lunch (included), before boarding the Riverboat Discovery for a three hour cruise which will take you into the heart of Alaska by a family who has made the rivers of Alaska a way of life. You will see a bush plane taking off on a “bush” style-runway, visit the home and kennels of the late four-time Iditarod winner Susan Butcher, and gain insight in the ancient Athabascan Indian culture. Day 8 – Depart Fairbanks

Your tour ends at hotel check out.
