Day 1 – Juneau
Arrive in Alaska’s capital city, Juneau. Claim your luggage and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 – Fly to Glacier Bay
This morning and early afternoon are free to explore Juneau. In the late afternoon board your flight to Glacier Bay National Park. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for two nights.
Day 3 – Full day sightseeing cruise in Glacier Bay
The Glacier Bay cruise will take you deep into the Park in order for you to observe the many different species of birds. You may be lucky enough to see seals, or whales. Look for bears, deer and mountain goats along the shoreline. Cruise to the face of the Margerie and Grand Pacific Glaciers, two towering masses of ice and snow. The Margerie and Grand Pacific are two of 16 tidewater glaciers, 30 alpine glaciers and numerous unnamed glaciers that encompass Glacier Bay National Park. Lunch is included.
Day 4 – Whale watching tour and return to Juneau
The captain and naturalist- guide both have years of experience on the spectacular Southeastern Alaskan waters, and delight in sharing their love of observing marine animals in their natural environment. The vessel is ideal for observing and photographing wildlife. After leaving the dock you head to whale feeding grounds to observe these magnificent creatures.
After your tour you board your flight back to Juneau. On arrival transfer to your hotel for two nights.
Day 5 – Helicopter Dog sled tour
On your tour today you will fly in a helicopter, land on a glacier and learn how to drive a dog sled. This combination of helicopter flightseeing and dog sledding on the Mendenhall Glacier is exhilarating. Once on the glacier, you will spend approximately one hour at the dog camp, which includes twenty to thirty minutes of dog mushing.
Day 6 – Juneau to Sitka
Today you will to fly to Sitka, once capital of Russian America. On arrival you will transfer to your hotel for two nights.
Day 7 – Best of Sitka Tour
This unique excursion explores the historical highlights of this former “Russian” capital city and includes a tour through the Alaska Raptor Center, a visit to Sitka National Historical Park, where the 1804 “Battle of Alaska”, was fought. The final stop is the Fortress of the Bears, which allows you to get within 25 feet of Alaska’s brown bears in a naturalized setting.
Day 8 – Sitka to Ketchikan
This morning fly to Ketchikan, the “Salmon Capital of Alaska”. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for two nights. You have the afternoon to explore on your own.
Day 9 – Misty Fjords Tour
Today you will enjoy a scenic flight to one of our great National Monument. This excursion features a floatplane flight in a bush plane. An unbeatable Alaska outdoor adventure! Watch for bears, whales, orcas, mountain goats, seals and sea lions. Soar over pristine wilderness and enjoy the unspoiled forest, lakes and muskeg bogs of the Inside Passage landscape. You will also survey a wide panoramic view of the city of Ketchikan.
Day 10 – Ketchikan
Today you depart for your onward journey.
