Famous for the rich fishing grounds that made the Waterfall Cannery one of the most productive salmon fishing canneries in Alaska, this converted resort attracts anglers of all skill levels from around the world for the staggering number of trophy-size Salmon, Halibut, and Lingcod that return each season.
At Waterfall, nature surrounds you. The area is known for its expansive network of bays, inlets, and waterways that make the Prince of Wales Island so picturesque. Wildlife is abundant here. As you explore, don’t be surprised to see a whale suddenly breech, shattering the silence as it splashes back into the water. Guides teach guests the Alaskan style of fishing for king salmon and halibut. Visitors also explore the inlets and bays looking for whales, bald eagles, sea lions, etc. Boats return at 4:30 p.m., catches are unloaded and pictures are taken.
Waterfall Resort’s on-site Alaska Airlines agent makes all outbound arrangements for your luggage and fish boxes. This service eliminates the check-in procedure in Ketchikan if you are making a direct connection on the same day on Alaska Airlines.
